Mobile Device Security Service Specification

1. Introduction

Our Mobile Device Security Service, powered by Lookout Mobile Security, provides essential protection for your organization’s mobile devices. Designed for simplicity and ease of use, our service safeguards your devices against common threats without requiring complex Mobile Device Management (MDM) controls. Our team monitors the platform to identify any attacks, trends or company-wide issues, while alerts are displayed directly to users to handle individual device threats.

2. Service Overview

We are focused on delivering core mobile security features, including app and web protection, defending against malware, phishing, and network vulnerabilities.

As your Managed Security Service Provider (MSSP), we monitor the platform for security trends and company-wide threats, ensuring your organization stays informed while you retain control over your mobile devices.

3. Key Features

App Protection: Scans for malicious apps that could compromise device or data security.

Web, Content and Phishing Protection: Blocks access to harmful websites that may host malware or phishing attempts.

Device Security: Identifies system vulnerabilities and provides guidance on necessary updates to maintain device health.

4. Service Delivery

User Notifications: Configurable security alerts are sent directly to device users, empowering them to respond to threats immediately with simple, actionable guidance.  The alerts will include items such as: blocked phishing attempts, out of date software, disabled security, rogue wi-fi, incorrect configurations, out of date operating systems, along with many others.

Platform Monitoring: Our security team monitors the platform for company-wide issues and provides proactive alerts if threats impact multiple devices.

Managed Invitations: We manage the invitations for users to the platform, checking they have followed all the steps, ensuring everyone is fully protected.

Service Notifications: We will notify you if any devices have been offline for longer than a month as that may indicate the protection has been removed, the device has been shut down or replaced, or even that the device is faulty.

5. Customer Responsibilities

App Installation: Customers are responsible for downloading and installing the Lookout Mobile Security app on their devices and entering their unique enrolment code.

System Updates: Ensure devices are updated regularly with the latest operating system and app patches to maintain optimal security.  The app will notify you when these are needed.

7. Exclusions

MDM Functions: This service does not include Mobile Device Management capabilities.

Device Control: We do not manage end-user devices directly; instead, we focus on security monitoring and alerting for company-wide trends.

8. Support

Standard Hours: Available between 0900 and 1730, Monday to Friday, UK Business hours, excluding UK public holidays.

9. Billing

The Mobile Security Service is billed per device per month. 

• For example, if a person has both a phone and a tablet, the billing will include 2 devices for the month. 
• The invoice will be adjusted each month, so you only pay for the devices protected.
  • We will see new devices joining your portal and the billing will increase automatically.
  • We do not have any form of device access, so will not know if a device has been removed or changed, so please notify us of any reductions in the number of devices, as it will have to be removed from the platform in order to reduce the billing.
